Why Does Dan Crenshaw Wear An Eye Patch?
Dan Crenshaw has been wearing an eye patch because he feels uncomfortable about his glass eye which draws a lot of attention. He saw dark, fuzzy patches in his eyesight two months ago and hurried in for emergency surgery.
Anyone, but especially Crenshaw, who had gone through it before, would be terrified of going into surgery to save his vision.
Doctors discovered that Crenshaw’s retina was damaged, which was always a concern for him when he awoke in the dark from a medically induced coma following the 2012 bomb.
While he suddenly restored vision in his left eye, scar tissue began to tear the retina away from the back, he added.
Doctors removed part of the scar tissue and reattached his retina before injecting a gas bubble into his eye to keep it in place. After that, he had to lie face down for a week to allow his body to recuperate.
When the House reconvenes next week, the congressman intends to be back in Washington. He’s been grounded in Texas for the previous two months.
Even if he had attempted to drive rather than fly, he added, the height concerns would have made it nearly impossible.
How Did Dan Crenshaw Lose His Eye?
Dan Crenshaw lost his eye because of the bombstrike in Afganstan in 2002. He is also instantly recognised because of his patches.
In the future, Crenshaw plans to wear fresh eye patches as he added that the person who used to make his patches had taken a long sabbatical, but that he is now back in business.

Moving on to Dan Crenshaw’s injury, he joined the US Navy and was a member of SEAL Team 3 during the Afghan War, rising to the rank of lieutenant commander. During his third tour, he was injured in battle and lost his right eye to an improvised explosive device.
He was evacuated and awakened from a medically induced coma to discover that his right eye had been obliterated and his left eye had been severely wounded by the blast.
Dan was completely blind, and doctors didn’t think he’d ever be able to see again.
He ultimately regained sight in his left eye after multiple arduous operations and months of fighting a challenging diagnosis, which he describes as a miracle.
